Casinos around the country are changing their gambling spaces in an effort to bring customers back to their properties. Most casinos in the US are still practicing social distancing so there are fewer players at each table game. Even if a casino uses plexiglass barriers, only a few people can play at each table.
Two casinos in different parts of the country are changing the experience for their customers. Artichoke Joe’s in California is offering outdoor gaming. Scarlet Pearl Casino in Mississippi recently added a new high limit gaming room for some of its best customers.
Between Governmental orders and customer preferences, these two new casino options will appeal to blackjack players in different parts of the country. Let’s take a look at the new gaming options.
Orchid Room at Scarlet Pearl Casino
Scarlet Pearl Casino recently opened the Orchid Room. Technically, the name is “ Orchid Room, Gaming Elevated.” The new Orchid Room updates the casino’s high limit gaming. There are eight blackjack games and mini-baccarat. The room also has 53 video poker and slot machines along with a dedicated cashier and player services counter for anyone who needs help.
The entire high limits gaming area has been reborn. New signature services in the Orchid Room include warm scented hand towels, curated cocktails, tasting menus, dessert pairings, personal televisions, phone chargers at each slot machine, and more.
“Any casino can raise their minimums, put in high-denomination slots, and call it a ‘high-limit room’,” said Scarlet Pearl CEO LuAnn Pappas, “Here, we have created an ‘elevated’ experience. The best players deserve the best room, the best services, the best amenities and most importantly, the best employees. The Orchid Room is simply the best.”
Outdoor Gaming at Artichoke Joe’s
Artichoke Joe’s Casino is a card room in San Bruno, CA. The California cardroom had to change how it operates as the property has reopened since COVID-19 first reached the state. As you’d imagine, Artichoke Joe’s is taking reopening seriously with a COVID-19 health and safety plan.
The big part of the casino reopening is moving blackjack and other table games to a tented area in its parking lot. In addition to offering open-air gaming, Artichoke Joe’s has plexiglass barriers at the games in an effort to reduce germs being passed between dealers and players.
Sure California is a warm state temperature wise but it’s a bit surprising more casinos around the country aren’t offering more outdoor gaming options. That said, it gets chilly at night and the casino recommends bringing a coat if your body temperature runs cool.
This solution is temporary for Artichoke Joe’s and there are only a limited number of table games available in the outdoor card room. Guests can play blackjack, baccarat, pai gow poker, and three-card poker 24 hours a day. The casino is also offering food for hungry guests for much of the day and night between 7 a.m. and 3 a.m.
