Las Vegas sees another six-figure Blazing 7’s Mega Jackpot winner this week. This time the big blackjack jackpot winner was at Paris Las Vegas. The winner is taking home $137,505 thanks to a side bet.
Caesars Entertainment shared the following about the progressive jackpot winner:
On Tuesday, December 8 a lucky visitor hit the mega jackpot on Blazing 7’s for $137,505 at Paris Las Vegas.
Rafael Valentin paid for his vacation and then some when he scored the jackpot this afternoon. Grinning from ear to ear under his protective face mask, the man from Louisville, Kentucky said he plans to pay off some bills and put the rest of his winnings toward a down payment on a new home.
We’ve been sharing news about blackjack side bets recently because there have been many big winners. Just over a month ago a blackjack player at Bally’s, next door to Paris, won a huge Blazing 7’s jackpot for $251,404.
Big Progressive Jackpots at Caesars Las Vegas
Caesars has some of the largest progressive side bets in the country at its Las Vegas casinos.
Side bets at casinos around the country can be as low as $1 and as much as $5 plus the original wager placed. The less money that’s wagered for progressive jackpots means there will be smaller winnings. That makes sense.
Caesars links all of its Las Vegas casinos progressive jackpots. The following casinos participate in the linked progressive jackpots for all Caesars table games:
- Bally’s
- Caesars Palace
- The Cromwell
- Flamingo
- Harrah’s
- Paris
- Planet Hollywood
- Rio (when open)
The company also requires players to wager $5 per hand on a side bet. The combination of linked progressive jackpots and larger side bet wager equals big progressive jackpots.
Blackjack is one of the most popular games which means more people are playing and winning progressive jackpots. This means the jackpot wins won’t be as high as other games. Six-figure jackpots are no joke but they’re also not large by comparison to other games.
For example, Pai Gow Poker games have larger jackpots because it has fewer players. The $5 Pai Gow Poker side bet jackpot for Caesars Las Vegas properties can reach over $1 million. Not too shabby.
Most Las Vegas casinos don’t have this many casinos linked together for a $5 side bet progressive jackpot.
Smaller Progressives Elsewhere In Las Vegas
Las Vegas has two very different casino segments – locals and tourists. This can be seen in different progressive jackpots. Caesars mostly caters to tourists visiting the Vegas Strip. The company has a lot of casinos linked to a larger side bet pot of money.
There are quite a few casino operators in Las Vegas with multiple properties. The difference is that they only offer progressive jackpots that require a smaller $1 side bet.
Even if a casino in downtown Las Vegas or the suburbs has a lot of players, they will only have jackpots about 20% of Caesars since the buy-in is only that much of Caesars. Building progressive jackpots happen much quicker at $5 than $1 at a time.
