Binion’s announced Throwback Thursday Blackjack in January with a $1 minimum bet. The demand was exceptional. Binion’s spread four tables for Throwback Thursday Blackjack during its peak. Every seat was often filled. Binion’s pulled the promotion after one month.
Binion’s announced today that Throwback Thursday Blackjack is returning to the downtown Las Vegas gambling hall. It starts on June 4. The tables will be open from noon to midnight every Thursday until further notice.
Players get paid 3-2 on a blackjack. Double down is permitted on 10 and 11 only. Double down after splitting is not offered. The dealer hits soft 17. These rules are favorable over most Las Vegas casinos where blackjack pays just 6-5 in single deck games.
These rules are the same as its usual single deck blackjack game that typically has at least a $10 minimum bet. The minimum bet is sometimes raised to $15 or $25 during peak hours.
This is the first time that a major Las Vegas casino has spread live $1 blackjack since Riviera shuttered. Riviera closed on May 4, but the $1 blackjack tables were pulled on April 30 to make way for the crowds that visited to say goodbye to the relic.
There was major interest in this promotion the last time it was spread. We recommend arriving early to get a seat as availability is limited. The promotion is only available for a limited time, but Binion’s did not announce a specific ending date for it.
