The UK casinos do. Obviously.
These casinos are so much better for players. It’s a regulated environment, for one thing. Players don’t have to worry about rooms disappearing in the night, or that their funds will be confiscated.
UK casinos also have a better selection of games. Where else can you play 1 of 20 blackjack variations in addition to live dealer blackjack, from your computer, phone or tablet?
It’s a fact. British blackjack players have it good.
But you don’t need me to tell you that.
So what I will tell you instead are where the best UK casinos are for blackjack players. You’ll find those in our toplist below.
Further down the page you’ll find 8 reasons (to brag) why UK casinos trump all others. Why not ship this to your US blackjack buddies to make them totally jealous?
8 Reasons to Play at UK Blackjack Casinos
Here are 8 reasons why you should play blackjack at a UK casino.
As if you needed a reason, am I right?
1. Live Dealer Blackjack Games
One thing you won’t find in a US casino (as of when this was written) are live dealer blackjack games. However, it is a standard option that I hope you don’t take for granted.
What’s more is that several UK casinos like 888, Party and Bet365, have developed live dealer blackjack mobile apps. So now you can have a realistic virtual casino with you wherever you go. All you need is an internet connection.
2. Mobile Blackjack Apps
Another thing you’ll be hard pressed to find in the US are casinos with mobile apps.
However, you’d be as equally hard pressed to find a UK casino that doesn’t have one.
It makes sense, really. Mobile has exploded over the last couple of years. In fact, it was estimated that by the end of 2013 that there were going to be more tablets in existence than humans.
Our recommendation? I would start with Bet365 or 888 Casino. Bet365’s game library (blackjack and otherwise) crushes everyone else’s.
3. UK Casinos Are Publicly Traded Companies
There are several UK casinos that are publicly traded. For example:
- Bet365
- Party Casino / Poker
- Bwin
- Betfair
- Paddy Power Casino
- 888 Casino
The benefit to playing at public casinos is that you know they’re in it for the long run. They’re not going to take your $50 deposit, pack and close up shop overnight. It’s more worthwhile for them to let you gamble and give them your money that way. Slow and steady wins the race, after all.
Now, I want to point out that doesn’t mean you’ll like the casino or how they treat players. For example, Party and Bwin are notorious for retroactively changing their terms in their favor. It’s their right, but it doesn’t make us happy.
But – being publicly traded means that most things are done with shareholders in mind, which at least means our money is safe and the games are fair. And can we really ask for more than that?
4. Play in Your Own Currency
Most UK casinos will let you choose what currency you want to deposit and play in. That includes pounds, Euros and dollars. Sometimes even in Canadian, Australia and Asian currencies, too.
That means you don’t have to lose money due to exchange rates. Chances are that you were going to lose enough money at the casino anyway. Why lose more if you don’t have to?
5. It’s Legal
Unlike the majority of the US, you’re not going to run into legal issues playing online blackjack in the UK. The casinos are licensed, regulated and tested, and so long as they stick to the rules for operating in their jurisdiction, they can accept players.
Sure – the US is evolving, but we are far and away from what the UK market is like. Who knows if our market will ever be as good, anyway.
6. Play On the Best Software
UK players have access to the best blackjack (casino) software.
Microgaming, anyone?
I point them out, because last I checked, their software came with more than 20 variations of blackjack. The casino that comes closest in the US is Real Time Gaming, and they only have 7-10 variations.
7. You Have More Banking Options
UK players have more banking options. You can fund your account using e-wallets (PayPal, Skrill, Neteller), credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, prepaid cards), money transfers, bank wires and more.
Not just that, but your deposits will actually go through.
Here in the US we have 3-5 deposit methods, and our banks like to disapprove of them whenever they can.
8. Bored? Choose a Different Game (UK Casinos Have a Better Selection)
Not only will you have a larger selection of blackjack games, UK casinos have a better selection overall.
Many of the software providers in the UK have game libraries of more than 300 games. The average US casinos pales in comparison at 100-120 games. That doesn’t include live dealer or mobile games, either.
